This has certainly been quite a week for Slow Skate! First things first, we're playing tonight at The Sunset in Ballard with our good friends from San Francisco, The Northern Key.
Seattle Weekly recommends it!
Our Spring Tour has included a lot of driving, many near sleepless nights and the company of new friends, old friends and family. Quite a little whirlwind. I'll have a chance to recount more of the details soon, but as I type from our Boulder hotel room I'd like to remind you all that we've got a couple more shows before we're heading home:
4.21.11 Boise, ID - Neurolux Lounge
4.23.11 Portland, OR - The Woods
Hope you can all make it out! We're excited to see our friends A Seasonal Disguise in Boise and The Winebirds in Portland.
See you soon!

Hi Friends of Slow Skate,
We finally did it - we got rid of our watse of time myspace page.
Or, you can just come visit us here on our actual website.
We've uploaded new songs via SoundCloud (a superior way to stream versus junkie myspace). These are the first two tracks we've let out of the bag before our entire album is available on Friday April 8th at Seattle area record stores and digital retailers like bandcamp and iTunes.
We are so excited to announce that we've scheduled our Album Release Party for Friday, April 8th at Columbia City Theater.
Here's a link to buy tickets:

We will be sharing the bill with these two wonderful acts:
Thomas Hunter & White China Gold

and
Dane Ueland

We'll post a new track soon from the new album: 'Count the Days with Me'

2.24.11 Los Angeles, CA - Origami Vinyl

October - the most wonderful of months. As we start to get hints of that cold autumn weather we have a natural hibernating/recording instinct that takes over, which means a lot more work on the new record is taking place. We're also experimenting with a dear friend that will turn our duo into a trio which we'll introduce later this month on the 29th!
But first: this Friday (10/1) we'll be heading over to the Conor Byrne to play a lovely little duo set! Always fun to spend an evening in good old Ballard.
Friday, October 1st
Conor Byrne
Lizzie Huffman and her Brother Band
Slow Skate
Erika Krumbeck
9pm, 21+
Later in the month on Friday the 29th, we're playing a Seance Show & Costume Party at the Josephine. Such a perfect way to introduce the new trio form - we'll be playing some more new material from our upcoming full-length.
Friday, October 29th
Josephine Seance Show & Costume Party
Slow Skate
Kelli's Starlight Wishes
Levator
Figeater
9pm, All Ages!
See you soon!

It's with a bit of a heavy heart that we write to tell you that this week will be the last Slow Skate show with Geoff Harper on bass and Brian Oppel on drums. The two have been a lovely part of Slow Skate for 3 years now(!), but the time has come to close this particular chapter in our Slow Skate story. We wish both Geoff and Brian well in their many other projects - and we won't rule out the chance of an occasional collaboration in the future!
So don't miss the show this Sunday. Come laugh and cry with us!
The details:
Sunday, August 8th 2010
Matinee Show at the Comet
Slow Skate
Colin J Nelson
Starving Art Family
Doors at 4pm, we're on at 6pm
$5, 21+
There will be many fun duo shows to come, full of experimentation with new songs and new ways to present old songs.
We're still hard at work at both Nels Studio and our own Palour Trick Studios, demoing, recording and all around making lots of audio magic. This new album is quickly taking on an epic life of it's own - we can't wait to share it with you all!
Thanks for your support, for listening, for commenting and caring.
Much Love,
Caitlin & Jason / Slow Skate
